Did you know?
During the rainy season, it rests on leaves with its forewings drooped over the hindwings, hiding its bright colours.
It loves hill-topping (flying to the tops of hills) and visits many different kinds of flowers.
Its wings are mostly black with white/cream stripes, and the hindwings have a mix of yellow-orange, blue, crimson, and white patches — making it look like a living rainbow!
Males and females look very similar.
It is a rare and legally protected species in India.
