Birla Edutech launches Birla Open Minds International School in Mumbai

Mumbai headquartered Birla Edutech Limited (BEL) recently announced its foray into international curriculum delivery with the launch of Birla Open Minds International School (BOMIS). The announcement was kicked off with a panel discussion at NSCI with stalwarts from the education sector. BOMIS adds to the few international schools in south Mumbai with a curriculum that boasts of a holistic and all-inclusive approach to education.
In order to give equal emphasis on extra-curricular activities along with thematic and STEM based integrated international curriculum, BOMIS has tied up with renowned institutes to offer world-class learning opportunities for its students, including Helen O’ Grady for performing arts sessions and Shiamak Davar Institute of Performing Arts for specialised dance sessions. Furtados School of Music has been roped in to deliver music lessons to the students. The programmes are well received by parents resulting in hundreds of queries for the new international school.

The speaker panel at the seminar held at NSCI included eminent personalities such as Ruchira Ghosh, Dr. Indu Shahani, Francis Joseph, Dr. Kavita Aggarwal, Mickey Mehta, Spokey Wheeler, Dr. Coomi Vevaina, Fraser Scott, Sheena Chohan, Dr. Tushar Guha, Dr. Reni Francis, Willibrord George, Dr. Sunita Wadikar and Parveen Shaikh.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Indu Shahani, founder, dean-ISME and chairperson, ISDI said, “I’d like to thank the organisers, BEL for inviting me to this event. We have business tycoons, entrepreneurs, etc. graduating from our institutes, but it fills my heart with happiness when someone enters into the education sector. The average age in India is 29 years and counts as a big opportunity for us to make a new and strong India.  These young people are the future of this country. The launch was part of an informational conference that started with Deepa Shetty, principal of GBMS addressing the crowd with a welcome note and an introduction to the event. The seminar also witnessed the presence of various eminent personalities from diverse backgrounds to discuss topics such as: Understanding the trend in education in developed countries, relationship between social structure and education system, ways to transcend from teaching to learning, etc. among other topics related to skilling and inclusive learning.
