Established in 1997, Bombay Scottish School, Powai is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi and offers education from pre-school through class X. It is a Christian minority institution which aims at imparting Christian values to children. The school took off with 450 students from Junior KG to class V and 14 teachers.
The first batch of 33 students appeared for the ICSE examinations in 2001. Today, the school boasts 1600 students and well qualified and dedicated teachers.
Bombay Scottish School hosts state-of-the-art architecture with spacious and well ventilated classrooms andinteractive electronic boards.
The school provides well equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs with modern equipment, a well resourced library staffed with an experienced librarian and a computer lab equipped with 46 Dell computers and internet access.
The academic year begins in June and ends in April and comprises two terms – June to October and November to April. The school follows ICSE curriculum and offers classes from pre-school to class X. The medium of education is English and Hindi is introduced from senior KG onwards. Marathi is offered as a third language. Project work is assessed from standard I to standard X.
Co-Curricular:
Art, Craft, Music, Physical Training, Gymnastics, Outdoor Games and Club activities are open to all classes. Debate, Elocution, Dance, Dramatics, Power Point Presentation, Creative Writing, Spelling Bee, Math Wizard and Quizzes form an intrinsic part of the school curriculum.
The school also encourages the students to participate in sports such as Athletics, Football, Swimming, Table Tennis, Throw Ball, Chess, Basket Ball and Karate.
