CAREER – this is one word that one starts living in fear of as early as one finishes the teens or the time when one finishes just the tenth class. What should I choose – Science, Commerce or Humanities? And what after that – Engineering, Medical, Chartered Accountancy, Law, Hotel Management, and the list goes on till the time one has made into the desired profession. And if that does not happen just in case then where do I go for graduation – DU, IP, Amity…? Unfortunately, we get into this rat race and forget what were our dreams and what we really aspire for in our lives?

Most people start the rat race with but one major dream or objective – A great or a good job, which will lead to a stable and comfortable life, nice house, nice car, holidays, and most luxuries… but somehow fail to realise that there are many ways to achieve these dreams.

Today’s world, thankfully for the youth of today has gone much beyond the conventional streams. These are the times where out-of-box is the way of thinking and those who have done that have been reaping the results and have become billionaires while just being in their twenties or thirties.

SUCCESS in today’s world is achieved by those who are masters of one rather than being the jack of none. Today’s industry has changed dramatically as compared to the Industrial Revolution we know of – from the Steam Engine to the Driver-less Train, the industry has come a long way. Today’s industry demands specialized knowledge in one is chosen professional field from the entry stage. In this highly competitive World, the demand from the industry is not for a generic professional but an expert who does not take a long training time but is on-the-go from the Day-1 itself. The industry today is not seeking to employ just and engineer, they want a specialist in a domain.

Accordingly, it has become important that students start developing comprehensive domain knowledge early-on right from their graduation period. Many colleges and institutions in India have understood the need of the hour and are focusing on courses that enable graduates to be industry-ready, productive, efficient, and employable (even self-employable) from the time when they start their career and step out in the market.

Looking at the current demand of the industry for ‘Skilled’ professionals and not just educated professionals, many career options have emerged for students right after they finish class 12, some of which they may not even be aware about at such a critical decision-making juncture.

One very rewarding stream in our growing economy is Built Environment. The Built Environment stream is a huge, diverse, and exciting sector which covers everything to do with industry segments like real estate and infrastructure including traditionally known areas like construction, property, and land surveying. Professions within the Built Environment consist of design, engineering, surveying, management, and planning. Professional courses designed in-keeping with industry requirements are available for students to pursue.

Courses in Built Environment Sector

Students seeking career opportunities in the built environment sector can opt for a BBA in Real Estate & Urban Infrastructure (with a minimum of 60 percent marks in their intermediate). The graduate level BE courses – BBA in BE – can be pursued by students of all +2 streams, be it science, commerce, or humanities. Graduates can then choose a specialization at post- graduate level with an MBA in sub-streams like Real Estate & Urban Infrastructure, Construction Project Management, Construction Economics & Quantity Surveying, or Infrastructure Management. Those not interested in a two-year post-graduate course can opt for a one-year PG Diploma in Facilities Management.

The BBA in BE is such a powerful program that the students can procure excellent job opportunities and career options with multinational companies, international property consultants, developers and builders, IT / ITES units, facilities management companies / agencies / consultants, and condominium / owners’ welfare associations.

BBA in Real Estate and Infrastructure scores over a generic BBA

A generic BBA is a commercial program that teaches the core functions within a business, like marketing, finance, accounting, human resource management etc. Like in MBA, a student gets to choose a field of specialization during the BBA. The choices include different fields include Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource Management. Whereas, a specialized BBA program, like the BBA in Real Estate and Infrastructure, is a techno- commercial program and is planned in such a way while covering basic management subjects, they focus on a particular discipline for developing special skill-sets to work towards making the students industry ready in the BE industry.

In addition to the curriculum followed by generic BBA courses, the curriculum of BBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure includes urban design and planning, real estate laws and regulations, investment, finance, and real estate management. A BBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure provides students a wide comprehension of real estate economics and real estate transactions and on issues related to land ownership. Students also learn how to evaluate the current market trends and investments. Upon successful completion of the course, a graduate of BBA in real estate and urban infrastructure has a practical understanding of the sales, management and support systems that make for a successful real estate development company. While the BBA in REUI offers great career options at the same time it does not limit one to being in Built Environment only, it sends out the graduates well-equipped to join any other program, including a generic MBA – in fact better prepared than a graduate who has completed a generic BBA.

Advantages of Choosing Built Environment as a profession

With rapid development and urbanization, Real estate and Urban Infrastructure is a sunrise industry and offers fast track career growth in many core and allied fields. A specialized BBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure prepares students for professionally rewarding fields like valuation, real estate development, sales & marketing, project management, investment, finance, property management and real estate research and consulting.

It is important to understand that this is one industry that fulfills one of the basic requirements of a human being – Makan or Housing. Built Environment is the industry that not only provides housing but also places one can work, study, play, shop, have fun, stay healthy, travel… one can either be in the Built Environment or in a jungle.

Selecting a BBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure will help one specialize in an industry that is rising and is poised for further growth will ensure that your career growth is always on an upward mode. Students who have passed out from such programs are already placed with large MNCs and Indian Corporates and are earning handsome salaries and getting high appreciation from their employers. In fact, those with just a couple of years of experience are already well poised for growth and success, both within the industry and outside and are earning high five figure salaries and fast moving towards six-figure salaries – this is one feat even majority generic MBA programs cannot boast of… DON’T WAIT, grab your Seat to Success, join BBA REUI NOW!!
