What is Fashion Technology ?
Fashion technology is a field focusing on the study of fabric types and suitability, using innovative technologies in material procurement and fashion design and their applicability in fashion manufacturing, transportation and retail. Fashion technology creates contemporary tools and modern technology such as 3D Printers and lab-made leather alternatives for the fashion industry with the aim of improving the way we produce and consume fashion.
Job Description
- Responsibilities of a fashion technologist include covering the dimension of the sewn product manufacturing industry
- Building an understanding of fabric and manufacturing process
- Management of apparel quality and technology for production
- Dealing with fabric processing, production process, etc.
Eligibility and Courses
Class 12
Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects. Some colleges also offer admission to students from commerce streams.
