What is General Management?

General Management is the executive/senior role within an organization in charge of overseeing most or all functions of a firm. General Management includes in its purview an overall responsibility for a company’s profit and loss and largely focuses on keeping people’s performance metrics high and ensuring that projects move properly toward completion.

• Responsibilities of a general manager include managing revenue and cost elements of the company’s income statement
• Overseeing day-to-day operations and assuring completion of projects within timelines
• Developing and implementing strategic plans for optimized productivity
• Reviewing and improving organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment and creating innovative approaches for improvement.
