What is Medical Science?

Medical science is the sector of health science concerned with maintaining human health and managing the diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, treatment or palliation of patients’ injuries and diseases. It is an area of knowledge (a science of body systems, their diseases and treatments) as well as the applied practice of the knowledge. Medical sciences encompass a variety of specialized sub-branches such as cardiology, neurology, biomedical research, genetics, etc. which aim at the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of illnesses.
