CBSE restructures affiliation system; process to be completely digital

According to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), it’s schools have been asked to provide UDISE data online immediately. A notification by the board said, “Non submission of UDISE+ information also violates rule no. 12.2.2 of Affiliation Bye-Laws.”

The notification also stated, “The Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) was initiated in 2012-13 for collecting integrated DISE information for elementary education and secondary education.” adding that “UDISE is one of the largest Management Information Systems on School Education and all the schools in India are required to complete their UDISE+ data through online platform.”

A few days ago, the Supreme Court told students that the CBSE would not be able to help the students taking compartment exams for class XII this month as it would be the colleges and universities which will take their admissions for higher studies. The apex court said this while hearing a plea which has challenged the decision of CBSE to hold compartment exams on the ground that it would be detrimental to the health of the examinees. A bench headed by Justice A M Khanwilkar told senior advocate Vivek Tankha, who was representing the petitioners said, “It is the colleges, universities and deemed universities which will be taking admissions of those students and the CBSE will not be able to help much the students taking compartment exams.”
