CBSE class 12 topper Yuvakshi Vig is not bothered about her results. Her focus remains fixed on clearing the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022.

CBSE had announced that they will not be releasing the merit list for Class 10 and Class 12 exams this year. It discontinued the merit lists from 2020 when the schools were closed due to the pandemic. Vig has, however, scored a total of 500 making it the topper in the final CBSE results.

The Amity International School Noida topper scored a perfect 100 in all her five subjects: English, History, Political Science, Psychology and Painting.

Just as when it is time for celebration, Vig, a consistent rank holder, is busy preparing for her CUET 2022 entrance examinations. Although she is very happy with her results, she is well aware these will not be useful in securing admission to her preferred Delhi University. Yuvakshi aspires to study Psychology at the University of Delhi, which has adopted the CUET results from this year.

I want to study in Delhi University and I’m in the middle of my CUET papers. I still have one paper left and am preparing for that. I think my other papers went well,” said she.

“Although the classes were online, my teachers were really supportive and provided me with immense resources,” recalls the young girl.

Another girl Tanya Singh, a student of Delhi Public School in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, too scored a perfect 500 in her exams. She aspires to join the Indian Administrative Services. “I want to crack the UPSC exam and be an IAS officer,” said she.

Incidentally, both the topper candidates are from Uttar Pradesh.

Tanya also thanked her teachers and her family for supporting her. “I had great support from my teachers and family. I fixed daily targets and slept only after achieving them.”

This year, the pass percentage of girls stood at 94.54 per cent while that of boys was 91.25 per cent. The transgender candidates’ pass percentage was 100 per cent.

A total of 33,432 students have scored above 95 per cent marks while 1,34,797 have scored 90 per cent marks.
