The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pre board exams for classes 10 and 12 have begun. Although the dates for the final board exams are yet to be scheduled, many schools have started conducting the pre-board exams, which a mock test of the final one.
Schools in Haryana have been permitted to call students of classes 10 and 12, while schools in Faridabad and Gurugram are still closed. Some schools are working on a blended approach, relying more on online classes and examination as offline exams would be a risk to the health and safety of students.
Earlier, a CBSE spokesperson had clarified that the board “had decided to conduct the 2021 board exams in written mode under strict COVID-19 safety measures but we have not yet decided on the dates — both for the practical and written exams.”
The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ had stated during a live webinar on December 10 that CBSE board exam 2021 dates will be announced much before the commencement of exam. The practical exam will be held at the school level. In case, schools are not able to conduct practicals due to the pandemic, alternative solutions will be made. If similar conditions continue, an extension of board exam dates will be considered.
