CBSE releases class 12 results 2020; pass percentage at 88.78%

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the class 12 result 2020 today, July 13, 2020. It has made available on its official website — cbseresults.nic.in. More than 12 lakh students appeared for the class 12 board examinations. 

The Board has declared the class 12 results for Arts, Commerce and Science streams on the same day and the overall pass percentage is 88.78 percent. A total of 12,06,893 students had registered for the CBSE class 12 examination  out of which 5,22,819 were girls; 6,84,068 were boys and six transgenders.

Initially, the Board decided to postpone some exams due to Covid-19 pandemic outbreak and scheduled them for July 1 but eventually cancelled the examinations due to a spike in the coronavirus cases in the country. The Board also declared that there will be no merit list announced this year.

This year, CBSE released admit cards for the Board exams online on January 19 and had QR code in it. 

The Minister for Human Resource Development, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ tweeted, “Dear Students, Parents and Teachers! @cbseindia29 has announced the results of Class XII and can be accessed at cbseresults.nic.in. We congratulate you all for making this possible. I reiterate, Student’s health & quality education are our priority.”

Pokhriyal had earlier stated that the CBSE results 2020 of both classes 10 and 12 will be declared in August within a interval of few days.

Last year, CBSE had released the class 12 results on May 2, 2020. Of total 12,05,484 students appeared, 10,05,427 had qualified the examination. The overall pass percentage of the CBSE class 12 result 2019 had recorded 83.40% which was slightly higher (0.39%) than the result of 2018.

Apart from official website of the CBSE – cbse.nic.in, the results are also available on DigiLocker and UMANG App as well as Google and Microsoft.
