Students who are not satisfied with their CBSE class 10 and 12 grades and want to get them evaluated again can apply for the same starting tomorrow (Tuesday).
CBSE released the final results for classes 10 and 12 on Friday. Re-evaluation of marks will begin on Tuesday. However, students can only apply for evaluation of their Term 2 marks.
When the board shared the Term 1 exam results with schools, earlier this year, students were able to convey their dissatisfaction with those marks to the CBSE at the time and appeal for rechecking. Looking into the special circumstances in which Term 1 results were conducted, the CBSE board has taken a special decision that if their Term 1 marks were increased after the re-verification, they would be taken into consideration for the final result, but if marks were decreased after rechecking, their original and higher marks would be counted for the result.
With the Term 2 results, however, any alteration in marks post re-evaluation will be final.
Apart from this, class 12 students who want a chance to improve their performance will be given the opportunity to try and improve their performance in one subject in the improvement exam. The compartment exams for both grades will be held from August 23 and only on the Term 2 examinations syllabus.

This year, the assessment exams was conducted in two terms instead of one board exam at the end of the year. According to the new evaluation policy, the first term exams were scheduled for November 30, 2021. The second term was scheduled from 26 April, 2022 to 15 June, 2022 at exam centres specified by the board.
The Board has accorded 30% weightage to students’ performance in the Term 1 theory paper and 70% weightage to marks scored in Term 2 for arriving at the final results. This decision, the Board said, was made based on students’ feedback.
“The predominant feedback received after the Term I (theory) examinations was that students were unable to perform their full potential in the Term 1 examinations as they had to appear for an objective pattern for the first time in the board exams without any adequate precedent or practice,” reads the CBSE press statement issued Friday.
It further states, “The predominant feedback for Term 2 examinations was more positive, with satisfactory performance expressed by the students. The board sought the views of a large number of principals and managements through a consultative mechanism, on the relative weightage to be given to the two terms to arrive at a composite final result.
