Chinese Institute of Chennai was established to encourage business and other ties between China and India. With China in the running to become the world’s second largest economy it is important from traders and industrialists alike, to understand the language. With this in mind, it has become increasingly important for Indians to learn mandarin. The Chinese Institute of Chennai, unlike other language teaching schools, not only specialises in teaching Chinese, but also provides an insight into the culture, etiquette and experience of life in China.

Courses offered: The institute prepares its own study material and ensures that classes are highly interactive to enable students to understand the language. Courses are offered at two levels; a beginner course and an advanced course. Classes are held on weekends over a four weeks duration. The institute offers corporate courses as well ranging from a one day course to a week and month long course. Programme: The beginner course (Level 1) is spread over 40 hours. Students would learn conversational Mandarin and would also be able to read and write Pinyin. The students would be able to speak and understand basic Mandarin, and would have gained the mastery of more than 500 Chinese phrases that would help them in their day to day conversation. The advanced course (Level 2) is spread over 60 hours and is aimed at enabling students to take up HSK exam after this course. At this level students learn to read and write characters, advanced grammar, etc in order to further their knowledge in the language.
