Christ (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru is a private deemed to be university located in Hosur Road (main campus), Bengaluru. It was founded in 1969 and is managed by the priests of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous Syrian Catholic religious congregation in India. Formerly Christ College, it was granted deemed university status in 2008 and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India and is accredited by NAAC as a A+ Grade institution.
Christ University is consistently rated among the top 10 educational institutions of the country in media polls. It has the rare distinction to be the first institution in Karnataka to be accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The institution offers an innovative and modern curriculum delivered by highly qualified faculty.
Spread over 25 acres, the main campus is located in Hosur Road and is part of the 100-acre Dharmaram College Campus in central Bengaluru. The central campus is close to residential localities such as BTM Layout, a residential and commercial area, Koramangala, another large neighborhood and Jayanagar, one of the largest residential neighborhoods in Bangalore.
There is an eco-friendly, serene and peaceful environment within the campus. Facilities include a well-stocked library with a collection of over 2.8 lakh books,1.4 lakh titles, 552 periodicals and 30 newspapers. Laboratory facilities for a large variety of streams such as computer, engineering and database management labs are available to students. The campus also houses sports facilities for football, cricket, basketball, badminton and table tennis to ensure holistic development of its students. On-campus hostel facilities are provided to boys. Other campus facilities include auditoriums, audio-visual rooms, cafeterias, seminar halls, multi-purpose/assembly halls and ATMs.
Christ University also has the 75-acre Kengeri Campuis at Kengeri on the Bengaluru-Mysore highway SH 17 which houses the School of Engineering and Technology, PU Residential College, the School of Business and Management (offering the MBA and BBA programmes) and the School of Architecture (officially started from 2017.) There is also the Bannerghatta Road Campus in Hulimavu on Bannerghatta Road which was inaugurated in May 2016.
Apart from these campuses in Bengaluru, Christ has two more campuses; in Lavasa, Pune (established in 2007) and in Delhi NCR (established in 2013.) All campuses are zero waste campuses and recycle their wet waste and used paper.
Christ University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and certificate programs. These are classified under the disciplines of schools of law, education, sciences, social sciences & languages, commerce & management and engineering.
The university has signed exchange programs with major universities across the globe. It also runs its flagship “India Experience Program” wherein students from other universities experience life of an Indian student for a fortnight.

Christ University has been boasting an excellent placement record for over 20 years, with more than 150 organizations from different sectors visiting campus annually. The centre for placement and career guidance, established in 1997, conducts placement drives and provides information about career opportunities within and beyond academia as well as guidance in the processes of self-assessment, career exploration and job search through individual advising, workshops, e-learning modules, AI learning, guest speakers, extensive library and alumni resources. The placement cell offers a plethora of platforms for those interested in crafts like drama, dance, music and theater, all these are built to compete at international scales.
Placement Highlights- 2020: Christ University conducted its placement and recruitment drive in 2020 (from November 2019-March 2021). A total of 1720 students were placed, where the highest CTC was recorded at INR 13.12 LPA (offered by Sailax AI) and the lowers CTC stood at INR 6 LPA. A total of 626 offers were made, the highest number of offers made by Deloitte. Top recruiters included Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Goldman Sachs and TCS.

Hostel: Christ University currently offers accommodation for female students on campus in “Jonas Hall” and for a few selected male students outside its campus in two hostels. Please note that the seats are limited and given on a first-come-first-serve basis.
