In keeping with the requirements of many universities for higher education after class XII, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced a revision in the break-up of marks of the theory and practical components for the subjects Computer Science, Fashion Designing, Physical Education, Indian Music (Hindustani), Indian Music (Carnatic) and Western Music from a 50-50 ratio to a 70-30 ratio, with effect from next year’s Indian School Certificate (ISC, class XII) examination.
All principals have been asked vide CISCE’s circular dated September 10, 2015 to inform the candidates writing the ISC (class XII) examination in 2016, parents and others who might be impacted with these changes.

Talking about these changes, chief executive officer and secretary, CISCE, Gerry Arathoon said, “Taking into consideration the requirements of the universities and that of the children these changes have been introduced. Every concerned school has been informed through circulars issued by the board and they have been assigned the task to inform students and parents.”
