CISCE changes ISCE and ISC answer scripts evaluation process due to COVID 19

Gerry Arathoon

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations has revised the evaluation process of the answer scripts for ISCE and ISC 2020 board examinations in the wake of coronavirus. As of now, teachers affiliated to the CISCE were assigned to specific evaluation centre for the correction of answer scripts wherein all the examiners would sit together to evaluate the answer sheets in a given period of time. This was the rule followed by the council every year.

But, the Council has decided to review the Centralised Evaluation Process this year and CISCE Chief Secretary,  Gerry Arathoon informed to come up with a solution for evaluating ISC and ISCE 2020 answer scripts as the security of their staff is the topmost priority.

As per the new evaluation process, the examiners are now permitted to evaluate the answer sheets from their respective residences. In case any examiner is absent, the answer scripts apportioned to that particular examiner will be reapportioned by the Chief Examiner amongst the examiners present.

“It is the responsibility of each examiner concerned to transport his/her box containing the answer scripts safely to his or her residence. If any examiner is absent, the answer scripts allotted to the examiner should be reallocated by chief examiner/co chief examiner/examiner coordinator as the case may be amongst the examiner on the first day itself and a record of the same should be kept by them,” said Arathoon.

“The assessment of ISC answer scripts had begun from February 24. Correction has been completed for several subjects while some more are ongoing. The instructions are for those subjects, the evaluation of which shall now begin,” added Arathoon.
