The 2023 ICSE (Class X) examinations will start on February 27 and ISC (Class XII) on February 13, the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced on Thursday and released the schedule.
The first test in both ICSE and ISC will be in English Language. The ICSE will continue till March 29 and the ISC will end on March 31. The last exam in ICSE will be held in biology –science paper 3 and the last test in ISC will be on environmental science.
The timetables for both examinations are available on the CISCE website.
The results of both the board exams will be issued through the convenors to the heads of schools in May, Gerry Arathoon, CISCE secretary and chief executive said in a circular issued to the schools today.
The council advised all schools to take all precautions against Covid 19 during the conduct of the examinations.
The council this time has announced the exam dates and released the schedule a little early this time. Most schools have completed teaching the syllabus and the early announcement of the exam schedules will help the students to do their preparations in a well-planned manner, principals of schools said.
Before Covid, the council would announce the exam dates at the end of first or in second week of December.
The 2023 ICSE and ISC will be conducted in full length for the first time after 2019.
In 2022, the council, in view of the disruptions caused in educational activities due to the pandemic situation had conducted two examinations, one at the end of each semester for both ICSE and ISC.
In 2021 the board exams were not held at all and students were awarded marks on the basis of internal tests held by the schools.
In 2020 the written exams in some papers could not be held because of the nationwide lockdown.
