Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered the permanent cancellation of accreditation of exam centres where mass copying is detected in the 10th and 12th exams. Teachers and staff who help students to copy will also be dismissed.Drones and video cameras will monitor sensitive examination centers round the clock
The Chief Minister issued these orders following an interaction with district collectors and police officers of the state regarding the preparations for the examinations. Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar and several other ministers were present at the meeting.
The Class 12th examination is being held from today till March 18 at 3,373 examination centers.The 10th standard examination will be held from February 21 to March 17 at 5,130 examination centers.
Chief Minister Fadnavis has instructed that Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code should be strictly implemented and that unauthorized persons should be prohibited from entering the examination center or even the vicinity within 100 meters.
A special sitting team of senior officers will be appointed by the District Collector at all examination centers. The sitting team will have to be present at the examination center one hour before commencement of the examination and maintain control until the answer sheets are submitted to the custodian after the examination is over
Students have been advised not to carry any kind of material (books, notes, mobile phones, etc.) while entering the examination center. Effective implementation of copy-free exams is expected through flying squads, he said
The District Collector has been instructed to appoint a Head of Department and Deputy Collector for each taluka to ascertain that there is adequate security, sitting teams, surveillance cameras are operational at the examination centers in all talukas.
Conducting the examination in a cheating-free environment will be the joint responsibility of the District Collector, Superintendent of Police and Chief Executive Officer. In urban areas, it will be the responsibility of the Police Commissioner and Municipal Commissioner , and work should be done accordingly, the Chief Minister said. He also directed the aforementioned officials to personally visit sensitive centers on the day of the examination of English Language, Mathematics and Science subjects.
