Coorg Public School (COPS) is a co-educational boarding school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). Situated in the Kodagu district of Karnataka, COPS was promoted in 1996 by Professor M.D. Nanjunda, a brilliant academician, who was conferred the National Award 2005 by the then President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of education. It is a co-educational, non-sectarian, residential school, established with the motto “In Pursuit of Excellence”. Today, it attracts students from all over the country and abroad. The school aims to “Infuse ethical values in the learning process and mould students with wisdom and knowledge that transcends all religious barriers.”
The 15-acre school campus has various academic and co-curricular facilities to ensure all-round development of students.
The ‘Educomp – Smart Class’ system employed in classrooms helps make learning more enjoyable. There is an audio-visual room which has a home-theatre, LCD and over-head projectors. The interactive educational CDs make the teaching – learning process more interesting and effective.
The library services form an integral part of the school’s vision of quality education. The school has two separate libraries for the junior and senior sections. The libraries are well stocked with books covering all spheres of subjects. There is also a computer lab with state-of-the-art technical facilities.
The campus provides practice fields for football, hockey and cricket. Children can make use of basketball, volleyball, throwball and badminton courts. The school also has a vast playground with a 400-metre track. Children can equip themselves with the skills of indoor games like carrom, chess, table tennis, etc.
Coorg Public School has carved a niche for itself with outstanding academic results since its inception. A systematically planned curriculum along with periodic evaluation has ensured wonderful results in ICSE and II PUC Board Examinations. COPS provides an environment which promotes good work ethos and encourages students to acquire an independent and critical approach to learning. About 90 percent of their alumni have taken up professional courses in reputed colleges and many have gone abroad for higher studies and are placed in multinational companies.
The academic year is divided into two terms: Term I from June to September and Term II from November to April.
The performance of students from classes I to VIII is evaluated on the basis of four internal assessments, two unit-tests and two end-term examinations.
The performance of students from classes IX and X is evaluated as per ICSE module and I and II PUC as per Karnataka P.U. board regulations.
Languages offered at ICSE & PUC levels are English and Kannada / Hindi / French (classes I to VIII second language Kannada is compulsory)
Kodava / Kannada / Hindi is offered as third language for classes I to VIII
At ICSE level (up to class X) subjects offered are- mathematics/ environmental science, physics, chemistry, biology, history & civics, geography and physical education / art / computer applications.

The first step in the COPS admission process begins with an online application. Required documents are supposed to be attached to the online application.
The deadline for first-round consideration is November 30, after which time the admin follows a rolling admission process based on available vacancies. Students applying for early childhood classes are requested to be of grade level age by June 1 for admission consideration.
Coorg Public School received the prestigious Brainfeed School Excellence Awards 2019, in recognition of excellence in the education sector as one of the top 500 schools in India and one of the six best ICSE schools of Karnataka.
