“The COVID-19 outbreak has undeniably impacted all areas of life and the soaring death toll has been scary. However, this unprecedented pandemic has also been a wake-up call for humanity and has stressed upon the importance of discipline, knowledge and patriotism. At The Mann School, it has motivated all our stakeholders to be more responsible and supportive towards each other while also nudging them to flex their creative muscles to ensure academic excellence in this new paradigm of learning. We see this as a silver lining in the dark clouds of despair looming above us.”
– Commander VK Banga, principal of the CBSE-affiliated The Mann School, Delhi – top ranked co-ed day-cum-boarding school in Delhi NCR.
Promoted in 1989 with the objective of providing world-class K-12 education that enables students to develop into bright, intelligent and physically sound global citizens, The Mann School, Delhi is ranked among the top 10 co-ed day-cum-boarding schools countrywide and #7 in Delhi-NCR in the latest EducationWorld India School Rankings 2019-20.
A fronrunner in tech-enabled teaching-learning, Mann School has been leveraging its technological resources and drawing upon the expertise of its faculty team in curating e-learning content to ensure uninterrupted learning during the ongoing nationwide lockdown. During these testing times, the Mann School staff and management have been working in tandem to design an innovative and engaging virtual learning programme for students while also ensuring the health and wellbeing of the entire school fraternity in the following ways:
Communication with all stakeholders
The school has been staying in constant touch with all stakeholders — staff, students, parents and well-wishers -through emails and letters to let them know help and support are always at hand. Moreover, the Mann School management has been ensuring provision of basic amenities for all residential staff staying in the school campus.
Virtual learning through MS Teams, Zoom and Google Classroom
The school’s tech-savvy teachers have been leveraging digital learning platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom and Google Classroom to offer an engaging virtual learning experience. Curricular resources are shared by the teachers both before and after the virtual classroom sessions to ensure better comprehension and reinforcement of learning. The Mann School teachers have also been using Genius Corner and Extramarks for enriching the virtual learning curriculum, online assessment of students’ learning outcomes and feedback.
Online training for teachers
Webinars and online training workshops are regularly conducted for teachers to help them stay abreast of the latest trends and technology in e-learning and to hone their skills in designing e-lessons.
“The words of encouragement, admiration and appreciation received from parents and students for our online learning initiative has been incredibly morale boosting. It is not only making them tech-savvy but also teaching them to be responsible and self-disciplined,” says Banga.
