“The Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent nationwide lockdown has posed steep challenges for educational institutions. Despite the roadblocks, we at Vedant believe there is a silver lining to the pandemic because it has hastened our transition to online learning. We were among the first preschools in the city to switch to online learning to ensure students stay active and engaged at home. We are seeing about 75 percent online attendance and going forward, we expect it to reach the regular attendance levels. The bottom line of the success of online classes is student engagement.”

Vedant International Preschool, (VIP) is a highly reputed chain of preschools based in Ahmedabad comprising the flagship VIP Maninagar and five franchised branches spread across the district. VIP Maninagar is ranked #2 proprietary preschool in the city in the latest EducationWorld India Preschool Rankings 2019-20 while the Bopal branch is ranked among the Top 10 franchised preschools of Ahmedabad.
Amid the ongoing mass closure of preschool-PhD institutions, Vedant’s committed management and staff have chalked out a comprehensive contingency plan to make a seamless transition to virtual learning aimed at providing continuous learning to students in the comfort of their homes.
“With parents finding themselves stuck to their homes with the kids during the lockdown, it can be difficult for them to keep the children engaged throughout the day. So we at Vedant International Preschool have launched this online learning initiative designed to help the children to be actively engaged in learning and utilise their time productively. Our teachers are preparing lessons using online digital tools, and parents are also learning brushing up their digital skills at home. Like a normal day, the hours are filled with activities, exercises, fun and homework,” says Priya Rajpal, headmistress/franchise coordinator.
Innovative Virtual Learning Solution: Supported by highly skilled and committed administrative and technical staff, Vedant teachers have stepped up to design well customised e-learning resources for the tiny tots. To enrich the e-learning content, they regularly upload additional learning resources and share recorded videos of the learning activities on a weekly basis.
Short videos of group songs and dance performances, yoga/exercises, photo collages of awareness messages, and online learning challenge are some of the social media activities conducted by Vedant International Preschool, Maninagar teachers to stay virtually connected and keep children actively learning.
Regular interaction with staff: The school heads conduct regular interaction sessions with the teaching staff to discuss the difficulties they face while conducting virtual classes and try to resolve the hurdles to ensure a seamless virtual learning experience for the tiny tots.
“We have received an overwhelming response from the parents for our online learning initiative. Home schooling has proved ideal in these testing times. Apart from learning, the online classes teach children discipline and time-management, and our teachers are prepared to work even harder than before,” says Priya Rajpal.
