Deakin University, ranked in the top 1% globally, announces the launch of the Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship Program (VSMSP) 2024 for Indian students, continuing its ‘Changing Lives’ initiative. This year, ten full-fee scholarships, each valued over INR 6 million, are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies across any area of study at Deakin’s campuses in Victoria, Australia. Additionally, one scholarship is dedicated to sports-related studies.

Professor Iain Martin, Deakin’s Vice Chancellor, underscores the university’s commitment to nurturing its relationship with India through programs like the VSMSP, aimed at supporting Indian students to gain a world-class education and contribute to their communities upon graduation.

Recipients of the scholarship will also benefit from the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP), providing networking opportunities and engagements with industry leaders.

Former scholarship recipient Sushmitha Rajakishore Singh expresses the transformative impact of the program, aligning with Deakin’s vision of changing lives.

The selection process, managed by the Deakin South Asia office in New Delhi, includes criteria such as academic performance, extracurricular achievements, commitment to societal contributions, and English proficiency.

Since its inception in 2014, the program has awarded scholarships to 49 scholars at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Additionally, Deakin University offers bursaries and scholarships of up to 25% of the total tuition fee for students studying at its campuses.
