Students from Delhi’s government schools are set to participate in a dual vocational training program in Germany designed to provide them with advanced technical skills and valuable work experience.
This initiative, organized by the Delhi Government in collaboration with the Goethe Institute and leading German industries, is open to students who have completed class 12, as announced on Tuesday.
The ‘APAL’ project includes training partnerships with schools in Latin America, India, and Uzbekistan, offering young people from select countries the opportunity to undergo a 3.5-year dual vocational training program in Germany in partnership with prominent German industries.
During an orientation at Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in West Vinod Nagar, AAP leader Manish Sisodia expressed pride in the partnership formed two years ago with the German Embassy, noting that German industry is now eager to invite Delhi students.
“This world-class training represents a significant step toward securing a brighter future for children in government schools, enhancing educational quality, and opening global opportunities for them,” he stated.
The first cohort of approximately 30-40 students is set to join the ‘APAL’ project. The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) two years ago, aiming to introduce the German language in ‘Schools of Specialized Excellence.’
Currently, German is taught in 30 Delhi government schools, benefiting around 4,500 students.
