Overview

Established in 2003 by Gayatri Prakash (Trustee) and Amit Prakash (Pro Vice Chairman), Delhi Public School, Vadodara is a CBSE affiliated co-ed day school that has become synonymous with quality education. Keeping with its motto ‘Service before Self’ and ‘Pursuit of Excellence’, the school has carved a niche for itself for providing holistic child-centred education rooted in Indian traditions and values. Started with 700 students, the school presently boasts 3,500 students mentored by 143 teachers. 

Conceptualised as a unique centre of education that is committed to excellence, the K-12 institution provides futuristic curriculums to nurture students into confident, independent and capable global citizens. Moreover, its academic rigour has led to DPS Vadodara students consistently topping the state and country in the CBSE class X and XII board exams over the years. 

Campus

DPS Vadodara’s sprawling 6.5-acre campus houses 102 classrooms rooms, most of which are equipped with ICT teaching-learning facilities. The school also hosts fully functional audio visual rooms to accommodate a large number of   students. The school’s well-stocked library features approximately 22,0000 in diverse genres. 

Other facilities include 10 well-equipped labs for science, information technology, social science and language. 

 

Academics

The CBSE affiliated K-12 DPS Vadodara follows a progressive, new-age pedagogy that encompasses understanding of concepts through exploration and experiential learning rather than rote learning. High emphasis is placed on inquiry-based learning and development of 21st century skills of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication.

Reinforcement and remedial teaching are used as tools to help the students. The curriculum is carefully designed considering individual learning differences and learning difficulties.

Extracurricular activities

A rich sports and co-curricular menu ensures holistic development of students. Co-curricular activities include music, dance, drawing, graphic designing, painting and art & craft. 

The school also promotes several student interest clubs such as Orators’ Club, Eco Club, Master Mind Club, Dramatics Club, Rotary Interact Club and Environmental Club. 

Students get to choose from a wide range of sporting disciplines such as cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, basketball, table-tennis, swimming, athletics, tennis, kabbadi and chess.

Admission

Admission notification is published online  in  October/November every year. 

The application forms are available on the school website. 

Admission to classes other than pre-nursery and class IX & XI are subject to the availability of seats and performance based on the eligibility of the student and are strictly as per the CBSE guidelines. 

The admission process includes student/parent interaction and observation.

Achievement

In the 2018-19 CBSE board exams, the class XII students secured an average aggregate score of 84.8 percent (Commerce), 82.9 percent (Science) and 82.6 percent (Humanities) while the class X students averaged 84.56 percent.

In the 2018-19 CBSE class XII board exam, Parth Chowdhary (Commerce) topped the state and stood #6 countrywide while Shaili Nihalani of (Commerce) secured #10 All India Rank. 

Eleven students of class X qualified for the second round of  NTSE conducted in February 2017. In the previous academic session, three students had qualified for the second level NTSE.

Rohan Bajaj of class XI secured first position in Gujarat and #9 countrywide in the Mountain Biking Championship Open Tournament (30 km). 

Niladri Aich of class X represented Gujarat in 32nd  Junior National Athletic Meet held in Coimbatore and secured a position among the Top 8 countrywide. 

Aditya Gandhi of class VII secured first position in the Under-12 International Open Badminton Tournament held in Barcelona (Spain). 

In the CATC-X Camp, Manav Parikh of class IX bagged Gold in elocution competition while Dhruvil Patel, Taksh Sharma and Himanshu Desai of class X bagged Gold in the volleyball tournament. 

Parth Chowdhary and Jash Damani of class XI secured #7 all India rank in IIT Guwahati’s Technothlon. 

Simran Shah of class IX stood first in the Indian Dance and Drama Competition held in Shimla. 

Rahi Golani of class XII stood second in 8th Open Gujarat Badminton Championship (Under 17). 

Shriya P Patel of class IV stood first in Under 9 District Level Chess Championship held in Vadodara. She stood third in Under 11 District Level Khel Mahakumbh Chess Championship held in Vadodara.
