Delhi Technological University, New Delhi, formerly known as the Delhi college of Engineering, is a state university established in 1941 offering B.Tech., B.A. (Hons. Eco), B.Des., M.Tech, M.Sc., M.B.A., B.B.A. and Ph.D. programs in various specializations.
The institute has been under the Government of Delhi since 1963 and was affiliated with the University of Delhi from 1952 to 2009. In July 2009 DCE was upgraded to a state university and renamed Delhi Technological University, through the Delhi Technological University Bill, 2009.
The 164-acre DTU main campus is lush green and well connected by road. Facilities include a library, a computer center, a sports complex, eight boys’ hostels, three girls’ hostels, and a married couples’ hostel. The campus has residential facilities for faculty and staff. The campus has an auditorium and an open air theater.
The library at Delhi College of Engineering also acquires a prominent place among the students and faculty. Being a central place for academic and research activities, it has a well equipped conference hall with the seating capacity of 150 for academic discussions and reading rooms for 300 users. It also has a very rich collection of relevant books and journals. DCE has a well equipped centralized computer center to cater to the needs of high profile students and faculty in the college. It is housed in a state-of-the-art building having specialized laboratories to provide variety of platforms and computing environment for UG, PG and research students. The center possesses a number of servers and over 150 Compaq Pentium-IV computer systems.

The performance of its students strengthens the value of the university, with industry partnership an alumni support to ensure proper placement of its meritorious students. The annually-conducted DTU placement programme aids in matching students with the correct recruiters based on student merit and capabilities and recruiters’ needs and requirements. 2021 placement highlights: The highest CTC was recorded at INR 13 LPA while the average CTC was recorded at INR 7.2 LPA.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked DTU 36th in the engineering category in 2020. DTU was ranked first among engineering colleges by Times Engineering Rankings 2020 and ninth by Outlook India and India Today in 2020.
DTU provides campus accommodation; the institute has eight boys and six girls hostels in the campus.
