Union minister for education, Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed in-charge for Karnataka elections in an official announcement made by the Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP).
In a letter on February 4, Arun Singh, National General Secretary said that BJP National President J P had appointed Education, skill development and entrepreneurship minister Pradhan as incharge of the state in the wake of the elections. K Annamalai, president, BJP state incharge Tamil Nadu will be the co-incharge person for the party.
Karnataka is heading for assembly elections this summer. Previously, Pradhan was involved in assembly polls in Bihar, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Assam, Madhya Pradesh and in Karnataka in 2013 polls as well.
Karnataka is the only South Indian state where the BJP is in power.
It may be recollected that BS Yediyurappa was appointed the chief minister of the state initially, following which the leadership was passed on to Basavaraj Bommai.
Pradhan’s focus would not just remain on the campaigning for the party and planning its future course but also bond the party workers to work in unison using his previous experience to do the same.
