In an effort to realize the vision of a developed India, ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the “Kaushal Rath,” a mobile skills training bus. This initiative, spearheaded by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), aims to deliver accessible and practical skill training to the youth across Odisha’s Sambalpur, Angul, and Deogarh districts.
The Kaushal Rath, equipped with cutting-edge tools, facilities, and certified trainers, will offer training modules such as Digital Literacy, Financial Literacy, Retail & Entrepreneurial Skills, and more. These courses are accessible through the Skill India Digital (SID) platform, designed for online skill training, reskilling, and upskilling.
The mobile training bus will traverse multiple districts, connecting with the youth and providing skill training opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship. The Kaushal Rath, furnished with computers, tools, facilities, and qualified trainers, will travel through Angul, Sambalpur, and Deogarh, delivering skill training to the local youth.
Speaking at the launch, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the importance of digital and financial literacy in the evolving landscape of digital financial services. He believes that the Kaushal Rath initiative will play a crucial role in educating rural communities, particularly women and children, in digital literacy and contemporary technologies.
Aligned with the Skill India mission, the Kaushal Rath initiative, supported by the National Skill Development Corporation and HP India, extends skill development opportunities to remote areas. The initiative aims to bridge the skill gap, providing inclusive access to skill training and fostering practical, hands-on experiences that align with the evolving demands of the technical environment.
Under the guidance of Shri. Om Birla, Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, and Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister, Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, the ‘Kaushal Rath’ initiative was launched in September 2023 to enable youths to pursue industry-relevant skill training, enhancing their theoretical and practical knowledge for better livelihood opportunities.
