Diplomathon concludes 3rd annual conference at Mumbai

Globalisation is an ongoing process that is linking people, neighbourhoods, cities, regions and countries much more closely together than they have ever been before. This has resulted in our lives being intertwined with people in all parts of the world via the food we eat, the clothing we wear, the music we listen to, the information we get and the ideas we hold. While globalisation is not a new process, it has accelerated rapidly since World War II, and is having many effects on people, the environment, cultures, national governments, economic development and human well-being in countries around the world.

Diplomathon™ Global is a Mumbai based leading conference series for skill development amongst the youth and offline network of students in Middle School & High School that recently concluded its 3rd Annual Flagship Diplomathon Global Mumbai ’19 Conference on 31st August & 1st September in the city of dreams. Diplomathon Global’s conference was attended by over 100+ schools across curricula with approximately 2400 participants (student delegates, teachers & observers) co-hosted at Podar International School, Santacruz West (CIE & IB) led by Director Principal Dr. Mrs. Vandana Lulla also a Diplomathon Mentor along with Nahar International School, Chandivali. Diplomathon Global is in collaboration with Members of International Schools Association (MISA) & Education World. Students from India, Sri Lanka, Maldives & UAE were participants of this mega symposium. Simulating over 51 committees such as BRICS, SAARC, OPEC, UNICEF, GCC, G20, ASEAN, IMF etc with conversations on diplomatic global affairs & international relations has been a remarkable focus of this unique skill development platform. 

Top schools at Diplomathon Global in the Santacruz venue were The Somaiya School, Podar International School (CIE & IB) Santacruz West, B.K. Birla Public School (Kalyan), Podar International School (Powai) CBSE (Also recipient of Largest Contingent Award at the forum), SSPM’s Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir (Borivali), Chatrabhuj Narsee School (Kandivali), Podar International School CIE (Nerul). Top Schools at Diplomathon Global in the Chandivali venue were Nalanda Public School, Avalon Heights International School, DY Patil International School (Nerul), Rajhans Vidyalaya, Childrens Academy (Thakur Complex) & Nahar International School. The Winning Schools i.e., Best Delegation Award was bagged by Nalanda Public School & SSPM’s Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Borivali at the respective conference venues. 

The objective of Diplomathon is to be a universal platform accessible to every school student, and not just to a few. The learnings that delegates receive helps in overall grooming of their personality by building their Social Interaction Skills,Public Speaking & Presentation Skill, Problem Solving Skills, Researching Skills, Communication Skills and Holistic Development. All participating schools received their recognition via a token of attendance, along with top school contingents, who get an opportunity to represent their school in the International Diplomathon Conferences. 

Students from schools outside Mumbai such as Welham Boys School, Dehradun, Billabong High International School, Bhopal, Ambassador School Dubai & Thaajuddeen School Maldives were a part of the flagship conference on the days. Diplomathon Global facilitated a Student Exchange for all the international participants via a cultural program understanding bilateral relations amongst peer groups of varied nationalities. Exchange students participated in the Mumbai City Tour including the Dharavi Industrial Visit witnessing manufacturing & packaging of consumer goods. The program also comprised of an Immersive exchange amongst the teachers & school heads in interacting to comprehend education advancements in schools with a one on one student counselling session, teaching methodologies for students with special needs & overview of school systems in India. The session was facilitated with the guidance of Ms. Vandana Arora & team at Nahar International School- with a purpose of exchanging valuable processes in schools. 

Diplomathon Global has impacted the lives of over 600,000 students Pan India and 6 countries in the past years with meaningful immersions of industry, learners, educators and government officials keeping the human thirst for knowledge as a pivotal element in bridging academia & industry. Diplomathon Global recent accomplishments include Diplomathon UAE 2019 Student exchange program with over 72 students from India with presence of Mr. Harshvardhan Patel, IFS & Third Secretary at Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Crowned as “Edupreneur Directors of the Year” at International School Awards 2019, Curated the largest student diplomacy conference in Madhya Pradesh with eminent presence of Mr. Rakesh Malhotra- Head, UNDP Madhya Pradesh & Dr. Nilesh Deshpande- Head, UNFPA Madhya Pradesh; Noida 2019 with the presence of Shri Anil Swarup, IAS & Former Secretary of School Education and Literacy. Diplomathon Global welcomes progressive schools across India who are interested in co-creating an engaging platform to Co-host a Diplomathon conference annually as well and join the Diplomathon fraternity.
