Diplomathon Global Amritsar ‘19 Transcending boundaries – A one of a kind school Conference was held on 14th and 15th December hosted at Mount Litera Zee School in association with the coveted Education World & Members of International Schools Association. Students of Grades 6 to 12 from schools all over the city and country participated in the conference which was focused on amplifying the importance of communication, 21st century skills and global affairs by simulating over 9 multidisciplinary international organisations in a peer – to peer experiential platform. 
 
First day of the conference marked the honourable presence of Chief Guest Shivdullar Singh Dhillon, District Commissioner of Amritsar, who shared words of wisdom about the art of diplomacy and his experiences with various countries as a young diplomat. Niyati Khanna – Cofounder of Diplomathon Global & Director, Apogeeoh Education highlighted the global goals, the need for transcending boundaries and the objective of this platform with its challenging yet refreshing journey of establishing the second symposium in Punjab this year after it initially took place in Jalandhar previous year personally having visited over 45 schools across Punjab advocating skill development and importance of global citizenship herself.  This was followed by Director of Mount Litera Zee School, Manjot Dhillon addressing the students and teachers about the importance of critical thinking and holistic education in the era of globalization and liberalization. The committee sessions were successfully commenced on the first day with substantial agenda discussions and working papers.
 
The second day saw the students dissecting the broader agendas into possible steps by formulating and deriving solutions for the betterment of their countries. They devised resolutions about topics like Safety of Healthcare Workers in Conflict Zones, Measures that can be taken by each member nation in BRICS for the 4th Industrial Revolution and many more.
 
The top 5 schools who performed exceptionally in no particular order were : The Learning Paths School, Mohali; GD Goenka Public School, Amritsar; GEMS Cambridge International School, Batala; Mount Litera Zee School, Amritsar; The Millennium School, Amritsar. The “Best Delegation Award” was bagged by GD Goenka Public School & Mount Litera Zee School. As a next step at Diplomathon Global, these top performing schools will receive an exclusive invitation at the international conference to be held in April 2020 at Dubai, UAE. 
 
Diplomathon Global Amritsar ‘19 highlighted the importance of inculcating the art of diplomacy into young minds. It focuses on providing the child with the right platform for voicing their opinions about matters of global importance, equipping them to face challenges and thus leading them to holistic development.
