DPS Jaipur excels in academics and in sports

Delhi Public School, Jaipur has yet again distinguished itself with a myriad of accomplishments across various domains, showcasing the exceptional talents of its students. Behind these success stories is the the undeterred guidance of Ms.Devyani Jaipuria, the Pro-Vice Chaiperson. Undoubtedlty, the school stands as a testament to educational innovation and unwavering dedication to nurturing future leaders.The relentless commitment of the Director, Ms. Aditi Misra has sculpted DPS into a beacon of achievements. In the recently concluded Government Inter School Cricket Tournament, the DPS Jaipur Girls U-17 Team made an impressive debut, securing a Silver Medal. Furthering their cricket prowess, four girls from the U-17 Team earned coveted spots in the Jaipur Team for the upcoming State Championship. Adding to the school’s sporting accolades, Naisha Shekhawat of Grade VII exhibited remarkable equestrian skills, clinching two gold medals in both Team and Individual events at the Jaipur Equestrian Championship. Her stellar performance has earned her a well-deserved spot in the Nationals, scheduled to be held in Kolkata this December. In the realm of martial arts, Khwahish Bajpai from grade VIII displayed her prowess by winning a Gold Medal in the under 17 category at the 67th District Level Taekwondo Championship 2023, organised by the Educational Department of the Government of Rajasthan.

The cricket arena witnessed the emergence of Krishita Mann, a rising star from Grade VI, Mann showcased exceptional talent, securing a Silver Medal in the 67th District Level 17/19 Cricket Tournament 2023-24. In a thrilling T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Central Academy School, Bhankrota, DPS Jaipur emerged victorious in the maiden Anurag Mishra Memorial Cup, defeating Sanskar School in the final by 9 runs. Amar Choudhary of Grade X was declared the Player of the Series, while Darshil Sharma, also of Grade X, earned the title of the Best Bowler of the Tournament.

Arunaditya Singh Rajpurohit of Grade XII showcased his tennis prowess by winning a Silver Medal in the Under 19 State Tennis Tournament held in Jodhpur. Athletics found its representation as Jahanvi Rathore secured a Bronze Medal in the 400m race at The National Athletic Meet Girls (Open) 2023 hosted by DPS Aligarh. Meanwhile, Rajvi Dabi excelled in the realm of commerce, securing the first position in the Shutterbugs category at E-Comm Parv, an Inter-school Commerce and Economics festival.

The commitment of the school to environmental awareness shone through at the Inter-DPS National Environment Festival 2023, where Anay Saxena and Mishika Tak secured the third position in the online event, ECO-CREACIONES: Your Garbage-My Treasure.

Further adding to the school’s achievements, Sonakshi Bohra of Grade XI earned the Best Position Paper Award at an International Model United Nations event, showcasing a comprehensive and well-researched document addressing pressing global issues.

The artistic talents of the students were recognised on a national platform. Tharu Chowdhury of Grade and VIII Vidhi Khandelwal of VI secured positions in ‘The Harmony 2023 Co-Creating Tomorrow National Finals for Magic with Colours competition Art for Voice organised by tGELF. In the academic sphere, Nitya Gunturu, Mishti Dutta, Ananya Agarwal and Nitya Naman secured the third position in Techpreneur at the Inter-DPS Science and Commerce Fest held at DPS, Azaad Nagar, Kanpur.

Even the youngest talents were not overlooked, as Suvir Vijaivergia of Grade I earned the title of Champ of the week twice in the month of November by LogiQids. In cultural and academic pursuits, Lalit Devvrat Bontha of Grade X secured the second position in the Inter-DPS संस्कृत ज्ञान गंगा PPT competition held at Delhi Public School, Varanasi.

Notably, the exemplary leadership of Dr. Richa Prakash Ghosh, Principal of DPS Jaipur, was acknowledged with the ‘Principal of the Year’ Award at the 9th Eduleaders Summit. This award recognises her outstanding contributions and leadership in the field of education, placing her among the top 100 principals in the country.

The Graphic Novel launch, organised on the UN World Day of Remembrance for ‘Road Traffic Victims’at Jawahar Kala Kendra,Jaipur in November, aimed to heighten awareness on road safety. Spearheaded by Mr. Sandeep Sethi and Muskaan Foundation, the initiative showcased the creative ability of students like Hrisha Pareek, Kaustubh Nair and Anay Sharma.

Last but not the least the school actively engaged in the Jaipur History Festival, focusing on the iconic Jantar-Mantar for a multidisciplinary exploration. Beyond historical context, students uncovered a rich tapestry of subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Geography woven into the monument. The school’s enthusiastic participation featured a millet song, prayer, dance, and skit, emphasising the significance of monuments. Additionally, the students crafted a Millet Map displaying the country’s millet production.
