Dr. Ramdas M. Pai, president of the Manipal Aacademy of Higher Education (MAHE) has been awarded the prestigious honorary fellowship of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners of the Royal College of Surgeons, UK. The award is in recognition of Dr. Pai’s contribution towards education in health services. Ian Pocock, registrar FGDP UK, presented the award. MAHE has two dental colleges in Manipal and Mangalore with more than 850 students at the undergraduate level and 150 plus postgraduate students. MAHE and FGDP (UK) have been associated since 2002 for conducting part I & II examinations for the FGDP diploma. MAHE conducts the training and examination in Manipal and Bangalore. “It is indeed an achievement for MAHE that Royal college of Surgeons, UK endorses our mission of achieving global excellence in dental education and oral health,” said Dr. Pai speaking on the occasion. “We are very impressed to know that MAHE works towards ‘taking dentistry to the doorstep’ by conducting 280-300 comprehensive dental care camps every year,” said Pocock while presenting the award. “It is hugely important that we look after the continuing professional development and training needs of dentists.” Epson introduces Greg Gorman Epson India will bring renowned celebrity photographer Greg Gorman to India in November for a series of seminars.
