Historic NCERT-UEducate agreement
New delhi, august 21. The Delhi-based National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Chennai-based UEducate Global Pvt. Ltd to digitise the former’s curriculum in the UEducate Global’s KATBOOK format.
Under this partnership agreement, NCERT textbooks will be converted into interactive digital texts offering immersive and multimedia learning. Students will learn from videos, animations, and simulations while teachers will be provided AI-powered classroom tools, translators, dictionaries, and audiobooks designed to simplify lessons preparation and improve teaching delivery. “Importantly, these resources will also be available offline, ensuring 250 million students countrywide equitable access to learning,” said Sarath Kakumanu, Founder-MD of UEducate Global, speaking on the occasion.
Oberoi Group scholarships
New delhi, august 14. Delhi-based transnational upscale hotels chain Oberoi Group announced the second edition of the Oberoi Group Scholarship Program 2025 for next generation hospitality industry leaders.
The program offers two prestigious scholarships: the Rai Bahadur Mohan Singh Oberoi — ‘Dare to Dream’ Scholarship for hotel operations executives of upscale hotels in India, and the Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi — ‘Be the Best’ Scholarship for hotel operations executives in India and overseas from within the Oberoi Group.
Each scholarship awardee will be admitted into the two-year MBA programme of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne (EHL), Switzerland — one of the world’s most prestigious hospitality management schools — all expenses paid.

Medhavi-BVG partnership
Pune, august 19. Sikkim-based Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has partnered with BVG Skill Academy and BVG Security Services Pvt. Ltd to integrate practical, on-the-job learning into formal academic programs. This collaboration aims to bridge the education-employment gap by ensuring learners are equipped with recognised qualifications and real-world industry experience.
Under the partnership with BVG Skill Academy, MSU will offer a range of work-integrated programs, including vocational degrees (B.Voc & M.Voc), diplomas, and short-term certification. MSU’s LMS (learning management system) enables real-time progress tracking and personalised academic support for students. The collaboration is centred on co-creating industry-integrated, National Education Policy 2020 aligned curricula.

Meghalaya adopts OVEP
Shillong, august 19. The Union government’s Department of Sports & Youth Affairs and Ministry of Education, Government of Meghalaya signed a MoU with Abhinav Bindra Foundation for official launch of the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) in all schools across Meghalaya.
OVEP is a global initiative that harnesses the power of sport and Olympism to instil the values of excellence, respect, and friendship among youth while promoting life skills, holistic development, and community well-being.
“Youth comprise approximately 50 percent of the population in Meghalaya. So, it is very crucial for the state to ensure that we invest in our youth. Whether they are in sports or not, or they become athletes or not, the values that they will get from this programme will be inculcated in them and will help them in every walk of life,” said Conrad K. Sangma, chief minister of Meghalaya, speaking on the occasion.
Added Abhinav Bindra, Olympic shooting gold medallist & Founder of the Abhinav Bindra Foundation: “Through experiential learning, and through sports, we hope to inculcate OVEP values in youth, so they become successful in all they do.”
Galaxy Empowered Mumbai launch
Gurugram, august 21. Samsung, India launched the Mumbai chapter of its Galaxy Empowered, a unique community-led programme to transform classrooms by upskilling teachers, principals, and school administrators with cutting-edge digital tools and modern pedagogies.
Following successful rollout of Galaxy Empowered in Delhi where the programme has reached 250 schools and certified 2,700 teachers, this programme was launched in Mumbai — India’s financial hub — with over 350 teachers and leaders from 250 schools across Maharashtra and neighbouring states in attendance.
“India is moving forward faster than ever before, and initiatives like Samsung Galaxy Empowered reflect our shared commitment to shaping a skilled, future-ready nation.
