IIM-V-ISFB concord
Visakhapatnam, december 2. The Indian Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam (IIM-V), announced a collaboration with the Mumbai-based Imarticus School of Finance & Business (ISFB), founded by Imarticus Learning Pvt. Ltd (regstd. 2025). Under this agreement, undergraduate and postgrad ISFB students will participate in specially designed academic immersion programmes hosted at the IIM-V campus.
“At ISFB, our aim is to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace expectations. These IIM-V led immersion programmes will provide students with the exposure, confidence, and skills they need to excel in modern finance and business roles,” said Joy Parekh, CEO of ISFB, speaking on the occasion.
Added Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty, Dean (Academics) at IIM-V: “Through these immersive programmes, students will gain early exposure to management thinking, analytical skills, and the learning culture of IIMs, an experience we believe will shape their professional journeys in meaningful ways.”
JGU-U Tokyo India tour
New delhi, december 8. O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) hosted a senior delegation from the University of Tokyo (U Tokyo) at a tri-city India-Japan Higher Education Conclave 2025. The high-level delegation was led by Professor (Dr.) Kaori Hayashi, Executive Vice President (Global and Diversity Affairs) at U Tokyo. The six-day India Tour spanning Delhi, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru, centred on the theme ‘Future of Global Education: India and Japan as Leaders of Knowledge and Innovation’.
Addressing the inaugural session, Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of JGU, said: “This India Tour substantially advances JGU’s Act East mandate and places higher education at the heart of the strategic partnership between India and Japan. Our exclusive partnership with the University of Tokyo will open up new platforms for research innovation, circulation of scholars and robust academic linkages that directly support bilateral priorities in education, technology and innovation. Universities must act as bridges between societies, enabling knowledge collaboration that is globally oriented and locally responsive.”
The conclave attracted university leaders, policymakers, scholars and students to discuss the evolving global higher education landscape and the future of India-Japan academic cooperation. Across Delhi, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru, the India tour featured high-level policy dialogues, strategic university visits, press engagements and networking forums aimed at shaping a long-term roadmap for joint teaching, research and innovation.
“I see great potential in collaboration between U Tokyo and JGU as well as other universities in Japan and India, the two critical Asian nations that value liberal democracy,” added Prof. Hayashi.
MSU–SQA partnership
New delhi, december 19. Medhavi Skills University (MSU) formalised a strategic Progression Partnership with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
The objective of the partnership is to create globally aligned, skills-integrated learning pathways that enable Indian and international learners to pursue workplaces-aligned, credit-bearing programmes in India, with clear progression routes to universities and employment opportunities worldwide.
“This partnership is a significant step in creating globally aligned academic and career pathways for Indian learners. By providing international recognition of qualifications and smoother progression opportunities, it strengthens India’s work-integrated education ecosystem while supporting the broader vision of global mobility and lifelong learning,” said Pravesh Dudani, Founder-Chancellor, Medhavi Skills University, speaking on the occasion.
Under the agreement, MSU will offer work-integrated, credit-mapped programmes aligned with SQA’s international standards. Eligible learners will have the opportunity to earn SQA qualifications coterminously with MSU degrees, creating flexible and cost-effective pathways for progression to top-up higher degrees overseas. The collaboration will focus on high-demand sectors to ensure strong employability and industry relevance.
KEF scholarship awards
Mumbai, december 12. Kotak Education Foundation (KEF), the CSR implementing arm of Kotak Mahindra Group, celebrated its annual scholarship felicitation ceremony, RIZE 2025 by awarding 1,400 new scholars from economically disadvantaged sections in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. They were awarded scholarships valued at Rs.40,000-1 lakh per year to support their higher education. The ceremony was graced by Rinku Hooda, celebrated Indian javelin throw para-athlete and World Champion 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, Arati Kaulgud, Director of the KEF Scholarship Program, commented: “These 1,400 Kotak Scholars are a testament to how education can shape futures. With these scholarships, we’re not just supporting their academic journey, we’re opening a world of opportunity, growth, and mentorship that will help them rise to their highest potential.”
According to Kaulgud, KEF’s scholarship department has been supporting students for over a decade, providing financial assistance to over 7,500 scholars till date. Over 1,500 scholarship awardees are successful white-collar professionals working in leading companies and other reputed institutions, she added.
