Education is a shared commitment between teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents

Mary Shanti Priya– Mary Shanti Priya, Principal, Vista International School

A school is the temple of education and children are equivalent to Gods. I feel honoured and privileged to partake in the operations of an educational institution. In the course of its evolution over a decade, Vista has witnessed an impressive transformation from a conventional school with a state-of-the-art campus to a highly tech-savvy avant-garde institution. We, at Vista International, perceive ourselves as a team of amateurs, where everyone learns; including our teachers, parents, staff and management.

The learners have garnered opportunities to learn and discover, especially when the present-day world is so disparate from the one in which we grew up and were educated in. At Vista International, our approach to learning is student-centred, encouraging active learning and inculcating a scientific temper and a spirit of free enquiry. Students are our primary focus and we endeavor to ensure that every child is engaged in the learning process. We do our utmost to consistently enhance and upgrade our our teaching methodologies, strategies, teaching aids, assessment tools and technology so that learning becomes an amalgamation of classroom discourse, research and scientific discovery.

Vista also strives to groom the children to deal with life’s challenges and prepares them to be socially pertinent. We constantly strive to cultivate this gospel and inculcate these ideologies in everything we practise to ensure that the children grow to their full potential to meet the ever-changing needs of society.

Aristotle once said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” As we impart education in sync with the advancements in technology and increasing globalisation, we do our best to propel our children forward with ethos. We constantly try to instil these qualities in our children. We pride ourselves in helping them grow and develop into sensitive and responsible citizens who serve the society at large.

I believe in upholding high standards with an absolute commitment and sincerity to strive to understand and improve the educational process, using student-centred strategies. I look forward to working with parents as we are determined to create a school where parents are welcome at any time, students are engaged in meaningful learning and the staff members are valued and appreciated for their efforts they take to shape the future of the students.

Our staff leaves no stone unturned to foster a positive learning environment for all our students. They put in their best to promote trusting relationships, where students feel respected, treasured and loved. We assist our students to establish a sense of personal responsibility, self-control, appropriate decision-making skills, self-confidence, and character-building with high integrity.

Parents have enormous power in moulding the future of their children. Their consistent support empowers us to work more diligently. I express my gratitude to them for their faith and confidence in us.

A committed and supportive management, dedicated teachers, caring and co-operative parents blend harmoniously to make Vista a student-centred school.

There is a huge opportunity for all of us at Vista to look forward to. The variety of programmes we offer will not only nurture the students but also help them to become future-ready citizens of the world. “Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those who don’t rest on the laurels of the past.”

I am confident that Vistaians will go from strength to strength with every academic year, adding a new leaf to the grandeur of the school.
