Entrepreneurship curriculum
Chandigarh, November 27. The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has finalised a class XII entrepreneurship curriculum. It is designed to stimulate innovation, self-reliance and entrepreneurship and will impact 5.60 lakh students statewide in the academic year 2026-27, said education minister Harjot Singh Bains, addressing a press conference.
“PSEB has demonstrated exceptional commitment by introducing entrepreneurship as a compulsory subject in 3,692 senior secondary schools, and training 10,382 teachers and 231 master trainers for 104 training programmes,” said Bains.
It’s noteworthy that the PSEB’s ‘Business Blaster programme’ launched in 2022-23 for class XI students was a resounding success, he added.

Digital skills championship
Ranchi, november 18. An inaugural two-day digital skills and competencies championship for class IX-XII students of state government-run schools was organised recently by the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC).
Addressing a press conference, JEPC administrator Sachidanand Diyendu Tigga said: “The 2,112 students who qualified in the block-level rounds in September will compete in the district-level championship. District-level champions will compete at a state-level competition.”
The objective of the championship is to assess and develop students’ practical ICT capabilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through a range of innovative activities, added Tigga.

Ambitious ZP project
Pune, november 14. Twenty-five zilla parishad (rural government) school students are set to visit America’s National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) headquarters under a collaboration agreement between the Pune Zilla Parishad and the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune.
During this tour, the students will visit NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre, the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, NASA’s Earth Information Centre and major technology companies in San Francisco.
“Of 15,000 students, 235 were shortlisted after a written test and oral interviews, and 75 were selected. Of them, 25 will visit NASA while the remaining 50 will tour ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) facilities in India,” said Pune’s ZP CEO Gajanan Patil. “Another 160 students will visit planetariums, IUCAA, GMRT (Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope), and Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament within India,” he added.

PPP Sainik Schools
Boriyavi (gujarat), november 13. The Union government has announced plans to establish 100 Sainik Schools across the country in the public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
Speaking via video conference at the inauguration of Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School (MRCSSS) and Sagar Organic Plant, Union home minister Amit Shah said: “These Sainik Schools will open up opportunities for children from several districts of Gujarat to serve in the armed forces. The Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School, built at an estimated cost of Rs.50 crore and equipped with smart classrooms, hostels, a library and a canteen, will certainly become a symbol of pride for Mehsana district.”

Vidyanjali initiative
New delhi, november 15. Under its Vidyanjali programme, the Union ministry of education will provide 75 refurbished high-quality computers of the National Informatics Centre Services Inc (NICSI) to 15 government schools in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district.
Addressing a press conference, Union minister of state for education Jayant Chaudhary said: “The Vidyanjali portal has onboarded over 8.33 lakh schools, 5.55 lakh individual volunteers and more than 2,300 CSR and NGO groups. The programme has benefited 18 million students countrywide with the active support of volunteers, including CSR organisations.”
Under the initiative, districts identify and submit project proposals in key thematic areas such as digital infrastructure, sports, health, and environment. “The proposals are reviewed and approved by the state for CSR engagement. NICSI registered on the Vidyanjali portal and adopted a project titled ‘Digital Infrastructure Development in Schools’ in UP’s Baghpat district,” Chaudhary explained.

JNV outrage
Morigaon, november 13. A teacher has been suspended and nine students transferred to other Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for physically abusing a junior student, said Additional District Commissioner (Education) Anusuya Sarma.
Following the incident, the district administration constituted a committee — comprising prominent citizens, police, and members of the JNV management — to investigate the incident. Subsequently, a teacher was suspended for dereliction of duty while the vice principal was transferred.
