Delhi Chief Minister Atishi highlighted the groundbreaking transformation in the education system brought about by the Delhi government’s initiatives. She stated that students now have access to opportunities that were unimaginable a decade ago, enabling them to dream bigger and achieve more.
While inaugurating a new academic block at Government Senior Secondary School in Jhilmil Colony, Atishi emphasized how improved infrastructure has reshaped the learning experience. The newly constructed block comprises 45 rooms, including 25 modern classrooms and six advanced laboratories, equipped with state-of-the-art tools to make subjects like biology more engaging and career-focused.
Atishi expressed how meaningful infrastructure upgrades are in creating a positive impact. “Seeing students confidently present their work in exhibitions shows how these changes empower them. Their smiles reflect the success of our initiatives,” she said.
Recalling the challenges of the past, she noted that poor conditions once forced students to miss school during the rainy season. “Today, labs, libraries, and sports facilities are not luxuries but essentials for our students,” she added.
Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Nivas Goel echoed these sentiments, pointing to remarkable improvements. The Class 12 pass percentage in government schools has jumped from 60% in 2014-15 to 95%, demonstrating the effectiveness of Delhi’s education model. Goel also lauded students’ innovation, mentioning startups and project-based achievements.
The CM reiterated the government’s commitment to education, noting that these efforts are not just about infrastructure but about nurturing dreams and ensuring every child has the tools to succeed. With sustained investment in education, Delhi is setting a benchmark for inclusive and transformative schooling.
The event concluded with a pledge to continue prioritizing education as a pillar of societal growth and empowerment.
