Prof. (Dr.) HP Singh, VSM is President of the ICFAI University, Jaipur since July 2021. He began his professional career as an electrical engineer & officer in the Indian Navy and rose through the ranks to become a Commodore in the service hierarchy. During his 31-year-long career in the defence services, he has held many challenging positions and was awarded the ‘Visisht Seva Medal’ for his distinguished service to the nation. Following his stint with the defence forces, he served as CEO of Podar Group of Educational Institutions in Rajasthan, Pro Vice Chancellor at Suresh Gyan Vihar, Vice Chancellor of the ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh and was conferred with the ‘Icons of Himachal Pradesh 2021’ award by the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh.
An alumna of IIT Kharagpur, Prof. Singh holds a MTech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with specialisation in Remote sensing Engineering and pursued his MSc in defence & strategic studies and MBA from Osmania University. He also holds a PhD in ‘Predictive Maintenance Management in the core sectors of the Indian Industry’ of Andhra University. Prof. Singh has published two books and several research papers. Besides academics, Prof. Singh is an excellent sportsman who has won Gold in Naval athletics. Prof. (Dr.) HP Singh is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (FIE), India, member of the International Organisation for Educational Development (IOED) & Chairperson of a number of Committees at the ICFAI Group of Universities.
