The Emerald Heights International School had the honour of hosting the prestigious ICC Women’s World Cup Trophy Tour, celebrating India’s historic maiden victory in the tournament.
The glittering trophy, recently lifted by the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, arrived on campus to rousing cheers from students and teachers. Organised as part of the official trophy tour across host cities, the event aimed to inspire young people while deepening the legacy of women’s cricket.
The programme opened with an engaging presentation on the history of the Women’s World Cup, first held in 1973, and India’s rise to the pinnacle of the sport. This was followed by an interactive quiz and cricket-themed activities led by the visiting ICC team, where students showcased their enthusiasm and knowledge. Winners were rewarded with prizes, adding to the excitement.
The highlight was a photo session with the trophy, offering students and staff a once-in-a-lifetime memory of being up close with the symbol of India’s triumph.
The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from 30 September to 2 November.
