Shlok Banerjee, grade 4 student of EuroSchool Airoli has secured first position in Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) 2019.
Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad is an annual math competition organised by the Thailand Mathematics Society. Unlike the majority of math olympiad competitions that focus only on 0.1 percent of the elite students, TIMO provides an opportunity for all students with keen interest in mathematics.
At EuroSchool, students are encouraged to participate in competitive exams and co-curricular activities to enable their holistic development. The school provides unique co-curricular and experiential programmes focused on building lateral and critical thinking, creativity, logical reasoning and essential life skills that help in the holistic development of the students. With its eyes on the future, EuroSchool aims to equip students with the right skills for new-age careers.
Commenting on the achievement, Sudeshna Chatterjee, principal EuroSchool, Airoli said, “Winning in this competition requires good knowledge of mathematics with strong problem-solving abilities. This success was the result of hard work and dedication of students, parents and mentors.”
