The three-day EducationWorld India School Rankings 2024-25 Awards (EWISRA) conclave — the largest gathering of K-12 leaders countrywide — was a resounding success. A sequel of the annual EducationWorld India School Rankings (estb.2007) — the world’s largest and most comprehensive school ratings and ranking survey that ranks over 4,000 schools in 458 cities countrywide — EWISRA attracted participation of over 3,000 educationists including school promoters, trustees, principals and senior teachers from all corners of the country.
Staged over three days (October 17-19) in the expansive ballrooms of the Leela Ambience, Gurugram, EWISRA featured stimulating keynote addresses, enriching panel discussions and awards presentation ceremonies during which high-ranked primary-secondary schools in four main categories — day, boarding, international and vintage legacy — and 14 subcategories under them, were awarded certificates and display plaques.
Among principals and education leaders who were conferred awards on the occasion were Abhimanyu Basu, Dean and CEO, Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai; Deepak Madhok, Chairman, Sunbeam Group of Educational Institutions, Varanasi; Kunal Dalal, Managing Director, JBCN Education, Mumbai; Dr. Gunmeet Bindra, principal, Daly College, Indore; Nooraine Fazal, CEO, Inventure Academy, Bengaluru; Praveen Raju, director, Suchitra Academy, Hyderabad; Dr. Arunabh Singh, director, the Nehru World School, Ghaziabad; Rekha Krishnan, principal of the Vasant Valley School, Delhi; Dr Paul Ducharme, Head of School, Oberoi International, Mumbai; Capt. A.J Singh, director, Pinegrove School, Dharampur; and M.A. Faiz Khan, trustee, Mukarram Jah School, Hyderabad.
Moreover, on the occasion, Sindhu Mendke, President, New Digamber Public School, Indore (estb. 1978) was conferred the EW Lifetime Achievement in Education Leadership Award 2024-25 and Brijmohan Chiripal, Director, Chiripal Group was presented the EW Extraordinary Achievement in Education Leadership Award 2024-25. Simultaneously, Education Leader of the Year 2024-25 and Visionary Education Leader awards were presented to edupreneurs/school leaders who have made exceptional contribution to raise teaching-learning standards and upgrade Indian K-12 education.
Keynote addresses were delivered by Dr. Raymond Ravaglia, former director of Pre-Collegiate Studies at Stanford University and co-founder of AccessUSA on ‘How Indian schools can compete on the global stage’ and Vinesh Menon, Director-General & CEO of ARISE (Alliance for Reimagining School Education) on ‘Re-Humanising education. Is humanness in education under threat?’.
Also on the packed agenda of the three-day event was felicitation of schools ranked under the EW Grand Jury India School Rankings 2024-25. These schools were ranked by a specially constituted Grand Jury of eminent educationists and conferred awards under differentiated parameters including campus architecture and design, design thinking leadership, career counseling, high happiness quotient, SDGs commitment (see p.72).
