The Finland International School (FIS), Mahalaxmi, Mumbai which is all set to open its doors in August this year has signed up with the Agarkar Centre for Excellence (ACE), founded by well-known Mumbai-based educationist Fatema Agarkar, to bring in innovative teaching and world-class learning solutions. ACE will advise and guide the FIS team on curriculum, pedagogy, and best education practices.
FIS, which will synergize Finnish best practices with Indian educational approaches, is the brainchild of Shashank Goenka, a successful businessman and edupreneur. “FIS combines life skills, co-curricular education and a robust academic program culminating with the IB Middle Years and Diploma program. Creating quality standards that are global benchmarks is important to me, and that’s the vision that enables me to bring experienced professionals as part of the core,” says Goenka, who is looking forward to FIS’ association with ACE and Fatema.
Fatema has been instrumental in setting up over 50 and national and international schools and is a well-known parenting expert and known to most families in the commercial capital as a guru and guide to parents and teachers. She will serve as School Advisor & Mentor to FIS. “ACE is happy to associate with FIS because it’s an answer to many families looking for world class facilities and an international academic program. FIS offers personalised learning for every child, the Finnish pedagogy and a stellar leadership team spearheaded by Principal, Nikkei Keskinen,” says Agarkar.
