A fire erupted in a private school this Tuesday morning, fortunately, without any casualties, confirmed a fire official.
The incident occurred at E-Techno Narayana School in sector 37C around 8:45 am. It originated in the store room and extended to the vice principal’s office due to the presence of school uniforms, resulting in damage to office items.
“We received the alert at 8:57 am and dispatched four vehicles promptly. Thankfully, there were no students or staff present, and the fire was swiftly brought under control,” stated Fire Officer Gulia.
The school had a delayed opening due to Ashtmi Puja, in accordance with Haryana government orders, hence students and staff were not on-site, he added.
Approximately 500 sets of school uniforms, three computers, two air conditioners, and various furniture and wooden items were consumed in the fire, as per police reports.
A school representative, present at the scene, suggested a short-circuit might have triggered the blaze. The school’s electrician attempted to contain it, but upon its spread, authorities were alerted.
