The fourth edition of cultural festival – UDAAN UTSAV ’19 – kicked off on February 12 at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by eminent actor, singer, politician and member of parliament Manoj Tiwari. The event witnessed participation from more than 3500 college students and 50 Delhi University colleges. To celebrate the learning and entertainment, Udaan Utsav witnessed cultural activities and competitions in different categories of Street Play, Music & Dance, Creative Writing, among others.
The first day was a fun-packed chain of performances, competitions, games and activities along with mouth smacking dishes from its food counters. Students showcased striking talent in various creative fields. A total of 15 teams participated in Nukkad Natak, 100 teams in painting, 20 individuals performed in solo dance and six bands participated in the music bands competition. Besides, in the music solo competition, around 35 students participated and 150 individual artists participated in the creative writing competition.
Other prominent guests who graced the inauguration ceremony were Kartikeya Sharma; founder & promoter – iTV Network; Sandeep Marwah, director – Asian Academy of Film & Television & Asian School of Media Studies; Deepshikha Kumar Anand, founder and CEO – SpeakIn and Rakesh Mittal, general secretary – Bharatiya Chitra Sangh.
Speaking about the event, Tiwari said, “Congratulations to Udaan for their commitment and dedication to awaken the young minds to India’s cultural richness. I am delighted to be a part of this platform again and would like to wish all the very best to all the young talented students who represented their talents here today. May they go a long way to take our country’s rich cultural heritage to a different level.”

We hope, this fourth edition will be a grand success too and the students will hugely benefit from the workshops in which they will participate thus contributing to India’s rich cultural diversity.”
The fourth edition of Udaan Utsav aims to sensitize the youth about India’s contemporary issues and make them aware of the country’s cultural diversity. Eminent personalities such as singers Padmashri Malini Awasthi and Abhijeet Bhattacharya among others, will be gracing the event.
A platform for youth engaged in various mediums of creative expression, UDAAN has been able to establish itself as one of the biggest youth platforms of its kind in Delhi NCR and arguably in the whole of India within a short span of time.
