Established in 1967, Gargi College is a women’s public college affiliated with the University of Delhi. Located at South Campus of Delhi University at Siri Fort Road comprising over 4500 students and 200 teachers, Gargi college offers over 45 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts and humanities, commerce, science and education.
Gargi College is awarded with an A grade by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.0 on a four-point scale. It is ranked at number 16 in the 2020 NIRF college rankings, and has been honoured with the “Star College” status by the Government of India’s Department of Biotechnology for nine consecutive years.
Situated on South Campus of the University of Delhi at Siri Fort Road, the college boasts state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities. The Wi-Fi enabled college campus houses well-equipped classrooms and laboratory facilities are provided for botany, chemistry, elementary education, microbiology, physics, psychology and zoology, in addition to three computer laboratories on campus. The campus library is equipped with more than 71315 books, and the bookstore helps students access required study material. The campus also houses one of the two Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility of Delhi University which students from any Science discipline can access the facility as per faculty guidance.
The college also boasts a large air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 750 people, a seminar hall with a seating capacity of 125 people, an open-air theatre for student cultural activities, common rooms and a food court equipped with a varied menu and water harvesting system. There is also a medical room on campus to cater to health check-ups and medical needs of students and faculty.

Placements:
The Gargi College placement cell organises the annual placement drive. Focused on students’ holistic development, the placement cell organises seminars and workshops to train students for placements.
The placement drive begins with invites sent to recruiters by the placement cell. After conducting pre-placement talks, students submit their CVs to the placement cell and various tests and personal interviews are conducted. Students clearing all rounds of the placement procedure are offered jobs by the recruiters.
Recent placement highlights- 2019: A total of 1434 UG (3 year) students participated in the 2019 placement drive, out of which 396 students were successfully placed and 271 students were selected for higher studies. The median salary for UG (3 year) students was INR 3.2 LPA, for UG (4 year) was INR 3.6 LPA and for PG (2 year) students was INR 4.2 LPA. Top recruiters who participated in the placement drive included ITC, Deloitte, S&P Global, EY GDS, Josh Talks and KPMG India.
