The US-based multinational Genpact Inc, which manages business processes for companies around the world, and the Delhi-based NIIT Ltd, announced the launch of a joint venture — NIIT Institute of Process Excellence Ltd (NIPE) — on June 10. The joint venture will address the increasing demand for skilled workers in the business and technology services industry, by providing training programs in relevant areas. This is a significant milestone which we believe will benefit not only Genpact, but the entire business and technology services industry. Genpact and NIIT are committed to building a world class training organisation that will focus on developing talent and increasing employability to meet the rising demand for skilled workforces in the countries where we operate, said Pramod Bhasin president and CEO of Genpact, speaking on the occasion. Our new initiative will build a pool of global professionals to fuel the growth of the ITES industry, added Rajendra Pawar chairman of NIIT. With NASSCOM estimates indicating that the number of trained professionals required by BPO (business processing outsourcing) firms is expected to double by 2010, Vijay K. Thadani chief executive of NIIT said, NIPE training programs will be offered to students through our state-of-the-art learning centres in key metros, mini metros and tier II towns in India, followed by China and the Philippines.
