Amidst Covid-19 and the present economic and business landscape, Goa Institute of Management (GIM), a premier B-school of the country has announced admissions for the three-year part time PGDM – PT (Executive MBA) program for working professionals and entrepreneurs.
The present curriculum has been curated to meet the aspirations of working executives and business growth objectives of family owned small and medium businesses. This program provides the full content and flavor of a rigorous MBA program.
How can a business integrate technology into its operations? How does an entrepreneur navigate through this challenging time? How can one leverage the learnings from the changing trends and patters emerging from analytics of data? All this and more will be covered in the programme explains Dr. Amiya Sahu, Associate Professor at GIM and Chairperson of the program. He says, “In a world with an ever shifting new normal, where the current health impact will be followed by an economic one, businesses need to prepared to rise above the rest.”
“Understanding the challenging nature of our times, adapting and innovating to offer solutions to the customer is key in the present times. Through simulation exercises, live projects and interactions with industry leaders, the students of the Executive MBA programme will be able to equip themselves with the necessary skill sets,” he adds.
The PGDM – PT program offers the convenience of completing a rigorous MBA program while working or being involved in their entrepreneurial ventures. The classes are held at the City-Centre campus at Bambolim but due to lockdown and government orders, GIM is conducting online classes for the current batch of students and will resume classroom-based learning once the restrictions are lifted.
Executives and supervisors with the passion to advance quickly in their careers are eligible to apply. One with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 50% marks and at least 2 years of work experience would qualify.
“During the first and second year, the students are expected to study Core and Elective Courses spread over six terms, each of approximately 15-week duration. During the third year the students do live projects as a dissertation, and either a case study or a work improvement project. The curriculum is designed to develop the skill-based competencies,” adds Prof. Sahu.
