Glendale Academy, Hyderabad is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE), UK. The school was founded by the late philanthropist and politician Bashiruddin Babukhan and co-founded by his daughter-in-law, Anjum Babukhan.
Established in 2003 with the vision to “empower and enrich lives through education, Glendale had a twin focus on cultivating “character” and “competence” for holistic development. The school has achieved many remarkable milestones, including hosting Dr. Howard Gardner, the Father of Multiple Intelligences, at its campus.
Glendale was ranked #10 co-ed day school in Hyderabad and Telangana in the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2021-22. The school has hosted Sean Covey, the president of Franklin Covey Education, and is accredited as the First Lighthouse School in India.

The primary school curriculum focuses on lesson planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation. The school is not exam-driven until grade V. Students are given an exploratory and enriching experience in a comfortable environment with BCL, MI and Waldorf methodology. At the end of grade V, parents choose between CAIE or CBSE for their child’s grade VI curriculum.
The senior school curriculum follows CBSE guidelines as it prepares students at the plus-two stage for competitive exams at the national level.
Students are also offered Cambridge Assessment International Education following the CAIE syllabus which offers a wide choice of subjects to students. Students can choose a combination of subjects across science, commerce & humanities.
The senior secondary school curriculum encompasses seven major learning areas: Languages, Humanities, Mathematics, Science, Commerce, Health and Physical Education, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and contemporary subjects introduced in the last decade such as Entrepreneurship, Biotechnology, Fashion Studies, Creative Writing and Translation Studies, Mass Media Studies and Knowledge Traditions and practices of India. The learning areas include English core, four electives, general studies, work experience and physical education.
The scheme of examinations and pass criteria for All India/Delhi Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by the Board shall be as laid down from time to time. The class XI and XII examinations shall be based on the syllabi as prescribed by the Board. The external examinations are conducted at the end of class XII. The examination would be conducted in theory as well as in practical.
Assessment of theory/practical papers in external subjects shall be in numerical scores. The Board shall also indicate grades in the mark sheets issued to the candidates in case of subjects of external examination. In case of internal assessment subjects, only the grade shall be shown.
