Glendale celebrates 20 years of Learning and Enrichment

Glendale Academy has been a thought leader in India with the innumerable accolades and innovations to its credit, the latest being recognised as the # 1 Co-ed Day School in Hyderabad/Telangana and Top Ten in India by EducationWorld for the third consecutive year and nominated as a Great Place to Work – India.

Envisioned as an abode of learning and enrichment nestled amidst rich flora and fauna, in tune with nature, Glendale Academy is celebrating 20 years of providing world class education to its 3000 students across its three campuses.

“The dream called Glendale was born to provide ‘learning places that are nurturing spaces for all the multiple intelligences’ and bring to fruition positive human potential,” says Dr. Anjum Babukhan, Director-Education.

During the recent celebrations at the school, the metaphor of the Tree of Life was used to describe how Glendale stands tall, its roots very deep, ground stable, its trunk -thick and tall, its branches -wide and strong with its ever-renewing leaves lush, bearing wonderful fruits!

– Roots were laid by the late Founder Chairman, Mr. Bashiruddin Babukhan and the twin seeds of character and competence were sown to empower lives through education and make the world a better place through those who graduate from Glendale.

-Ground was nurturing and fertile to absorb the best of east and west with best global pedagogies yet rooted in Indian sensibilities.

-Trunk represents the core that grew in an upward spiral of organic growth to support the needs 21st century with a strong pedagogy optimising Multiple Intelligences methodology, brain compatible learning, integration of UN SDGs, Leader in Me, amidst an ethos of Respect, Responsibility and Cooperation.

-Branches have burgeoned far and wide across various domains: for academic excellence, visual & performing arts, sports, leadership, multi-culturalism, and universal values bringing out the multi-faceted competencies of its students.

-Leaves keep sprouting afresh and thriving with successful outcomes in learning and achievements!

Fruits are the most important part of the tree which are symbolic of Glendale’s students and alumni whose Character and Competence was sown to emerge and reap their destinies!

As a trailblazer in providing holistic 21st century education, Glendale has achieved many milestones in its 20 year journey including the Father of Multiple Intelligences Dr. Howard Gardner’s visit in 2012; being the first school in India to integrate the UN SDGs into its curriculum, and now the school aspires to be the first accredited Lighthouse School of the Franklin Covey Leader in Me programme based on Stephen Covey’s book ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’.
