Medical innovation took centre stage at Sathya Sai Grama, where the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) hosted a landmark symposium on Genomics & Immunotherapy. The gathering brought together over 500 physicians, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders from India and abroad, with thousands more joining via global livestream.
The event unveiled breakthroughs in affordable gene therapies, antibody engineering, AI-driven diagnostics, and translational medicine. Eminent speakers included Dr Sachdev Sidhu (Canada) on antibody engineering, Dr Shane Miersch on phage display platforms, Dr Ron Geyer on immuno-oncology, and Dr C.N. Ramchand on bridging discovery to therapy in India. Padma Bhushan Prof. T. Ramasamy, former Secretary of Science & Technology, underlined India’s potential to democratise advanced therapies.
Panel discussions explored next-generation immunotherapy infrastructure and the role of applied AI in genomics, featuring experts from IIT Madras, international research institutes, and start-ups.
