The Government Ayurvedic medical college was established in 1967 and is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. It offers a wide variety of comprehensive courses to enlighten the students about various ancient aspects of Ayurveda.

The aim of the institute is to bring together educational facilities for the training of self sufficient personnel in all branches of health activity.
